DO YOU KNOW…
·         Whether your independent contractor is a covered worker or employee as defined by L&I?
·         What are the key record keeping elements that need to be documented to pass an L&I audit?
·         How to properly communicate during an L&I audit? –Questionnaires—what docs to give—
·         How to split classifications?
·         What kind of penalties can be imposed on your business?
If you can’t answer these questions then this class will help you to prepare and respond to an L&I audit. You will learn the key elements to protect your business from the common tactics used by L&I auditors such as reclassifying contractors as covered workers and assessing penalties. You will also learn why interest and penalties charged can be reduced. Also the course includes recent Washington Administrative Codes changes from October 2008 for Record Keeping Responsibilities of the Prime Contractor and the 2009 RCW Failure to Secure Payment-- Stop Work Order penalty.

Upcoming QuickBooks Classes presented by Blue Stone Accounting LLC:

2010 Schedule to be posted Soon!

Prior Class:

Cost: Free

Saturday, December 5, 2009
1:00 pm to 3:00 pm

Shoreline Library
345 NE 175th
Shoreline, WA  98155
(Free Parking!)

The December 5th class will focus on Company Setup in QuickBooks, Accounts Payable and an introduction to QuickBooks "Items".  These are often the first challanges for newly hatched QuickBooks Users.

The Free Class will be limited to 15 people in order to encourage class participation.  This is particularly important to me, since I recently attended a large 2010 QuickBooks training session, where, while the information was excellent it didn't provide a personalized learning atmosphere.  And indeed the last half hour was a blatent advertising pitch for QuickBooks/Intuit's addon's with questionable value to end users.

Please email Laura Dodson at ldodson@bluestoneacct.com to register.

Prior Class:

October 24th, 2009 Class:

Bring your QuickBooks Questions!

The Questions will determine the classroom discussion, so this won't be a generic cookie cutter QuickBooks class.

As people register, I will be asking them what topics interest them.  I will post the proposed schedule here as it develops.

This class will be limited to 15 people to provide a more personalized learning environment.  Class participation will be encouraged, so bring some topics that you would like to learn about.
